The team
The Coles Cloud Engineering function exists to execute on the Cloud Strategy and manage the ongoing financial, operational and security aspects that arise as a result. From a strategic outcome's perspective, the Cloud Engineering Team aims to maximise the benefit of cloud migrations, support the SaaS adoptions for speed to market and deliver PaaS and IaaS solutions in line with our risk profile.
The Cloud Engineering Team provides the entry point for Coles Line-of-Business Teams for consumption of Cloud services. The Team aims to enable high degrees of self-service, secure by default provisioning, achieve service level agreements (SLAs), standardise operating practices, automate policy enforcement and continuous risk monitoring reporting.
The role
This role is responsible for the development, testing and production of automated infrastructure as code using Azure resources for the various infrastructure and application teams within Coles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review and inform infrastructure and security designs put forward by the wider architecture groups
- Provide technical expertise and advice (including documentation) as appropriate to the organisation
- Provide support to application teams using Azure services
About you and your skills
To be successful, you will have proven experience in software development especially in cloud native applications. Development skills include:
- DevOps (JFrog Artifactory, X-Ray, Azure Resource Manager, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GCP)
scripting skills (Perl, Python, Bash, Powershell)
Experience with on-premises and cloud deployments
Experience in Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform and Ansible
Knowledge of distributed computing, web services, API, integration technologies, networking, protocols and design patterns;
Strong experience with engineering practices, including:
Packaging, provisioning, configuration as code, logging and monitoring
Source code management
Continuous integration
Automation: build, test, and deploy
Proven experience with Agile development and working with Agile Teams
