The RoleDue to an exciting period of growth, Fitness Cartel Australia is actively seeking expressions of interest from experienced Club General Managers, to be considered for both current and future opportunities. Needs exist across the Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast regions.
Reporting to the Regional Performance Manager, you will be accountable for the overall performance and operations of the club, driving a culture of excellence, community, and high performance.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing overall budgets and financials, including member movement/growth, EBIDTA, and retention strategies
- Overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure high-quality facilities are maintained
- Recruiting, onboarding, training, and retaining staff members
- Delivering training and mentoring for Club Department Heads, running weekly meetings to engage and motivate teams
- Overseeing staff rostering, approving leave, and managing fortnightly payroll
- Utilising internal software systems such as Clubware, Debit Success, and Gym Sales for communications and procedures
- Managing internal and external marketing in line with the club's social media strategy
- Planning, managing, and executing club events like Open Days and 8-week challenges
To be considered, you will need experience managing a Big Box Gym with more than 20 staff and more than 2,000 members. Substantial experience in a KPI-driven management environment will also be essential. Experienced Sales Managers looking to step into a Club General Manager role are encouraged to apply.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Proven ability to manage overall budgets and financials including member movement/growth, EBIDTA, & retention strategies
- Expertise in overseeing large-scale gym facilities with multiple service areas such as crèche, retail & apparel stores, and cafés
- Recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of staff
- Effective use of internal software systems like Clubware, Debit Success & Gym Sales
- Experience in organising and managing club events such as Open Days & 8-week challenges
You'll need a growth mindset with a genuine passion for fitness, complemented by a customer-focused attitude to achieve exceptional customer outcomes. You will be a role model, enthusiastic about promoting the gym brand.
