An exciting opportunity exists at this progressive Sporting Club for the Position of General Manager.
To be considered for the role you will be required to fulfill all duties of a Licensed Club Manager and Gaming Nominee.
Tewantin Bowls Club is located approximately 1½ hours North of Brisbane in the Noosa Region and only minutes from famous Hastings Street Tourist Precinct in Queensland.
Tewantin Noosa Bowls Club, T/A Noosa Lawns Club, has been established since 1949 and has in excess of 2200 Bowling and Social members, 25 EGM’s, Online TAB services/Keno, Main Bar and a newly renovated Bistro/Restaurant. The Club has 3 grass bowling greens hosting many prestigious tournaments including the Zone and District Championships.
Job Responsibilities: As the General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the club and will be expected to be hands on in the day-to-day activities at the club. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Fulfilling the requirements of the Nominated Liquor Licensee and Nominated Gaming Nominee ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, including OLGR (Office of Liquor and Gaming regulation) and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
- Managing the club's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and ATO requirements.
- Ensuring that the club maximises the return from all revenue streams.
- Recruiting, training, and supervising staff to maintain a high level of service and professionalism.
- Assisting the Board in the Development and implementation of strategic plans to ensure the continued success and growth of the club.
- Overseeing the planning and execution of functions, events, and member activities, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Collaborating closely with the Board of Directors, providing regular updates, and working together on key decisions.
- Cultivating strong relationships with members, sponsors, and the local community to enhance the club's reputation and engagement.
- Driving exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrating strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams for high engagement and performance.
- Development and Implementation of Marketing and Promotions Strategies to facilitate member retention and growth.
- Management and Supervision of the Clubs Bar and Gaming Operations
- Oversee and liaise with the Clubs Catering Contractor to ensure Catering Operations meet the desired standards and objectives of the Club.
- Ensuring that the Clubs Buildings, Equipment and Greens are maintained and updated to the appropriate standards.
Requirements: To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience in a similar management role within the hospitality or sports industry, preferably in a club environment, and as a Gaming Nominee and Liquor Licensee.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- A commitment to ongoing training and development of staff.
- Knowledge of marketing and promotions (internal and external) with the ability to implement campaigns and strategies.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with members, staff, and stakeholders effectively.
- Sound knowledge of gaming regulations and experience in managing gaming operations.
- A customer-centric approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of all relevant legislation and employment Awards.
- Knowledge of Grant Applications and processes
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to work positively with a Board of Directors.
Relevant certificates including RSA, RSG and RMLV (Responsible Management of Licensed Venues)
