Celebrating our 103rd year of operation, Rockhampton Golf Club is situated near the beautiful Botanical Gardens just minutes from the CBD of Rockhampton. With an average annual membership of around 720 members, the licensed club operates seven days a week. Rockhampton Golf Club caters to its members, corporate gatherings, and private events, regularly playing host to competition days, major regional, and international events on our acclaimed 18-hole course and fully equipped clubhouse. Reporting to the Management Committee, you'll be responsible for ensuring exceptional member experiences, efficient daily operations, and strategic growth initiatives. Flexibility in working hours and a proactive, hands-on attitude are essential attributes for this role, the successful candidate will be part of ensuring the Club retains its reputation of being friendly and inclusive through working positively with members, the committee and staff, sponsors and other stakeholders.
Qualifications & experience
- Extensive senior managerial experience in hospitality, ideally in club environments.
- Proficient in coordinating with bar, catering, and service staff for event planning and leadership.
- Thorough understanding of Queensland's health, safety, and licensing regulations, including Food Safety and Hygiene.
- Holds certifications in Responsible Service of Alcohol, Responsible Service of Gambling, and Registered Manager of a Licensed Venue.
- Strong financial background with knowledge of corporate accounting and IT systems for budget management.
- Experienced in human resources, including recruitment, training, and supervision.
- Collaborates effectively with Committee, providing feedback and shaping future directions.
- Proven success in managing people, assets, and facilities.
- Passion for golf highly desired.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Staff Management: Lead hiring, training, and scheduling of various staff departments to ensure top-notch service delivery.
- Facility Maintenance: Supervise upkeep of the golf course, clubhouse, and facilities to maintain high standards.
- Event Coordination: Organize tournaments, social events, and activities, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Member Relations: Foster positive relationships with members through effective communication and personalized service.
- Financial Management: Develop budgets, monitor expenses, and implement revenue-maximizing strategies.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including safety standards and licensing requirements.
