POSITION PURPOSE
The Club Manager is accountable for the operations of the Club and is responsible for a number of key outcomes of the associated business. The position plays a significant role in planning, drives sales and profitability, provides leadership, supervision, and development to subordinate Club staff, and manages/oversees personal training contractors. It is responsible for ensuring a high standard of service is provided to members and that all related activities are managed in a commercial and cost-effective manner – delivering on Snap Fitness’ brand signatures and achieving Snap’s goal of being ‘Australia’s Trusted Workout’.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
People – Productivity and Morale
Desired Outcome: Create and maintain a positive, fair, and productive working environment
- Maintain a good working knowledge of Snap Fitness Human Resources and WHS policies and procedures.
- Ensure that Snap Fitness procedures and processes related to human resource management and WHS are implemented in day-to-day activities.
- Managing staff / PT’s ensuring that work and service outcomes meet job or contract requirements.
- Undertake employee and contractor management (personal trainer) activities such as recruitment, induction, regular meetings, and ongoing performance assessments.
- Proactively address staff or contractor non-performance issues and take steps to drive performance
- Coordinate regular team meetings to create a strong and positive culture within the gym
- Implement sound leadership techniques to ensure that the working/club environment is inclusive and harnesses the diversity amongst both staff and contractors to bring about club business objectives.
- Implement a recognition strategy that recognizes and rewards superior performance.
- Lead staff and contractors
Presence – Marketing
Desired Outcome: Increase lead volume through internal & local marketing plans
- Plan a creative and inspiring marketing strategy for the following months in line with club targets and hitting all lead generation areas.
- Review data around marketing, leads, and sales to enable changes to be made
- Ensure that all social media marketing is current and relevant in-line with Snap Fitness policy.
- Ensure that all material displayed is neat, tidy and is in line with Snap Fitness specifications.
- Complete weekly sales reports for franchisee/Directors
- Complete all marketing for the club ensuring outreach requirements are being met weekly.
- Proactively keep up to date with, and promote products and services and inform members of current promotions
- Maximise selling opportunities through marketing initiatives and networking with local organizations and businesses including liaising with local schools and sporting teams to maximize business exposure.
- Manage and drive member and retail sales for the club
- Design and implement strategies to maximize member retention outcomes
Process – Member and Club Revenue and Net Profit Growth
Desired Outcome: Increase membership size and net profit growth
- Ensure that current member acquisition and retention campaigns are implemented consistently.
- Contribute to budget planning and manage budget parameters to achieve financial outcomes for the club.
- Maintain an understanding of profit and loss reporting, how these relate to club operations, and the resulting financial outcomes.
- Ensure all membership processes and documentation are completed and recorded accurately.
- Ensure members are provided with all relevant and required information related to their membership.
- Undertake monthly stock counts and ordering of supplies, ensuring Purchase Orders are placed for all required supplies.
- Manage retail stock control for vending machines and Snap merchandise
- Ensure all contractor invoicing is accurate and processed in a timely manner.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Recruitment, selection, and performance management for this position is based upon the person's demonstrated capability to:
(Technical) Maintain a high level of knowledge and technical expertise across all facets of fitness club management including sales and marketing, membership, operational management, budgets, human resources and WHS management.

- Keeps current on recent industry developments and changes in company policy.

- Is aware of, and understands, legislative requirements and maintains an updated knowledge of Snap Fitness Policies and Procedures especially those related to HR and WHS.
- Has a complete understanding of the Club’s emergency procedures including emergency evacuation procedures, fire alarm and warning systems.
- Maintains a focus on ongoing personal development.
- Has ensured that staff and club operations are 100% compliant with Snap Fitness policies, procedures and Operations Manual guidelines.
- Has ensured all marketing is implemented in accordance with Snap Fitness marketing standards and has Director’s approval.
(Problem solving) Manage and facilitate outcomes for complex issues and competing priorities that involve, but are not limited to, sales, membership issues, IT systems, reporting and data management, people management and legislative/policy compliance.
