The Co-Design and Engagement Branch plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the voices of the disability community are heard in shaping policies, processes, and initiatives.
About the Role
As an APS5 Co-Design and Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating meaningful engagement with the disability community and stakeholders to enhance services and support systems. Coordinate co-design activities, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to the development of policies and initiatives guided by legislation and standards.
- Coordinate co-design working groups, workshops, and events to gather input from the disability community.
- Liaise with stakeholders to prepare co-design materials and maintain effective relationships.
- Represent the organisation at external forums and events, providing guidance and information to stakeholders.
- Deliver engagement activities aligned with the Engagement Framework, applying co-design principles.
- Manage enquiries and requests through a shared inbox, serving as a point of escalation.
- Deliver clear, concise messaging to diverse audiences, including people with disability, families, and carers.
About you
To thrive in this role, you need:
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, preferably in the disability sector.
- Knowledge of legislation, policies, and frameworks related to disability services is desirable.
- Ability to influence effective community engagement program design through research and consultation.
- Monitoring and evaluation skills to assess stakeholder engagement projects for continuous improvement.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and understanding of the IAP2 engagement spectrum.
- Strong presentation skills for small group settings.
- Project management experience and understanding of accessibility principles is desirable.
- Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
