We are on the look-out for a passionate and enthusiastic Colour Chemistat our West Footscray Location for an 18 Month Contract
As the Colour Chemist you will:
- Develop and modify new colour systems that are required by the business units served.
- To improve colour systems that are required by the business units served.
- Match and QC colours on request using best colour practices.
- Carry out activities to improve (lab and point-of-sale) colour matching software prediction accuracy and efficiency.
- Working with Project Leader to manage colour databases and update to internal and external customers efficiently and effectively.
- Support the manufacturing scale-up of new and improved products until they are proven successful.
- To provide company personnel (especially Marketing and Sales) with expert technical colour advice.
- Meet with internal and external customers to discuss technical issues or to conduct trials
In order to be considered you will have:
- A Degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline required
- Experience in surface coatings or polymer industries desirable but not essential
- Excellent organisation and communication skills both written and verbal
- A passion for working in a 'hands on' laboratory environment
- A fast learner with a good technical aptitude and logical decision-making approach
- Solid computer literacy, preferably with intermediate to advanced Excel and some knowledge of Oracle, ERP or formula maintenance type software
