Combustion/Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator

The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Metal Coating Lines Maintenance team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Combustion/Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

Reporting to the Metal Coating Lines Asset Manager, you’ll collaborate with skilled Mechanical Maintenance Coordinators and Reliability Engineers to support the overarching departments with mechanical requirements. In particular, your role will be pivotal in ensuring maintenance requirements are successfully executed across our ovens, furnaces, pots and combustion equipment situated at our Springhill Metal Coating lines.

What Will You Do?

As the Combustion/Mechanical Maintenance Coordinator, you will:

• supervise the day-to-day management of plant maintenance activities, including planning, organising, execution and review of maintenance
• coordinate and provide technical support to the maintenance resources within the section
• participate in cost reduction and capital upgrade projects
• respond to the day-to-day Combustion/Mechanical availability and reliability issues
• adhere to BlueScope Steel’s HSEC expectations and instil these safety principles throughout the maintenance organisation

More About You

As an enthusiastic and motivated individual, you will bring your experience and demonstrate a willingness to develop your skills. You will also bring:

• tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or a Mechanical Trade
• experience working in a similar industry within mechanical maintenance or process engineering, with a focus on defect elimination and equipment reliability
• a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
• experience with using a CMMS and/or Microsoft suite
