This well-known State Government Department is currently seeking an experience Commercial Advisor on an initial 3-month contract role to manage the commercial aspects of projects, ensuring appropriate contract and arrangements are in place and monitored to ensure compliance.
Your new role
As a Commercial Advisor, you will be responsible for the following below:
- Ensure network projects portfolio of works are conducted in accordance with the organisation’s contractual obligations to the State, supplier contracts and relevant policies, processes, and procedures.
- Coordinate any tender activities in accordance with the organisation’s Procurement Policy. This includes preparation and issue of Request for Tenders/Proposals/Quotes (RFx) documents, managing submissions, the evaluation process, development of contract documents and issuing of purchase order.
- Ensure all project related contracts are administered appropriately and provide guidance and advice on any issues that may arise.
- Provide guidance, education and assure compliance of organisation’s team procurement related policies, procedures, standards, and systems.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful person will need to have a tertiary qualification in Engineering with relevant commercial experience on transport or construction project ideally within the light or heavy rail industry. You will also have experience in analysing commercial arrangements and identifying risks and opportunities.
