They are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager to join their Executive Leadership Team. This pivotal role will involve overseeing all aspects of Sales, Marketing, and Logistics. As a key member of the leadership team, the successful candidate will report directly to the Business Owner and assume ultimate accountability for the Profit and Loss (P&L) of the business. You will work closely with the Engineering and Finance managers and will interact and provide input daily across all areas of the business. Accordingly, strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organisation are essential.
The preferred candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful career progression through Sales and Operational roles in customer centric medium sized businesses and be able to clearly demonstrate the following attributes:
- Strong experience in business development and operations, specifically in Industrial markets.
- Strong understanding of the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Mining sectors.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic plans to drive business growth.
- Financial acumen with the ability to analyse and interpret P&L statements.
- A proven history of successful leadership.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a strategic thinker and a have strong negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business processes.
- Possess a collaborative mindset and work well as part of a team.
- Superior time management abilities and capable of meeting deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients and industry contacts.
- Direct day to day leadership and management of the sales team and branch personnel, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with other members of the Executive Leadership Team to ensure alignment with overall company goals.
- Work collaboratively with the Logistics Manager to oversee operational outcomes.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales growth and achieve business objectives.
- Control all pricing decisions and margin outcomes.
- Take ultimate accountability for the P&L, making informed decisions to optimize financial performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Key contact and relationship management of major contracted accounts.
- Negotiation of purchase contracts and management of supplier relationships.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Provide regular and insightful reports to the Business Owner, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- New business development.
- Preparation of major tenders and RFQ’s.
- Direct management of regional distributors.
