At Basketball Australia (BA) it is our vision that basketball will be the sport of choice for Australian families in the 21st century. As the governing body of basketball in Australia, we are a not-for-profit business who work collaboratively to grow the sport with our basketball Members, the eight State & Territory Basketball associations.
We proudly manage our elite national teams (Boomers & Opals, Rollers & Gliders plus men’s and women’s 3x3), our Centre of Excellence facility, elite competitions including, the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), major international FIBA events, national junior championships and as well as Australian basketball’s official junior game development program, Aussie Hoops.

What is the role?
As basketball continues its significant growth trajectory, BA provides leadership and management in implementing the National Integrity Framework which is the foundation for ensuring all participants in the sport are provided with a safe, fair and inclusive environment.
We are seeking an energetic, passionate, organized an customer focused person to join our team as a Commercial Partnerships Coordinator for a Fixed Term period of approximately 3 months (parental leave coverage). The role will foster the establish relationships with existing partners, communicate effectively and often, work collaboratively internally and with the partner to execute the partnership agreement.
This role provides a great opportunity for someone early or establishing their Commercial Partnership experience to make their mark in the basketball environment, obtain some vital experience and be part of the Australia’s fastest growing sport.

Role Specifications
The role is part time for a month, then full time for a fixed period May to July 2024 (parental leave coverage). At BA we foster flexibility and balance so hybrid working is a feature of our environment.
The role is a Melbourne based role. Our office is located at the State Basketball Centre, Wantirna South Victoria. The role may involve some domestic travel and some weekend work depending on the nature of our basketball events.

You will have:
- Experience in a similar role (early or establishing) preferably in a National Sporting Organisation or a Professional Sporting League / Club
- Demonstrated successful relationship management
- Experience in delivering successful business outcomes in tight timeframes and managing multiple priorities
- Experience in managing stakeholders with competing agenda’s and expectations
- Ideally experience or knowledge of working within finance systems particularly purchase orders.
