We are looking for an energetic and motivated Commis Chef to join our team here at the Bowlo Bangalow
Joining the Bowlo means you are part of Norths Collective which includes Norths Cammeray, The Alcott Lane Cove, The Verandah Beecroft, The Greens North Sydney, The Glasshouse Artarmon, Seagulls at Tweed Heads.
Your Key Priorities will be to:
- Supporting the Head Chef in the preparation and cleaning of the kitchen
- Supervision of all food preparation to ensure the kitchen is consistently producing high quality meals
- Assist the Head Chef with creating menus, recipes and improve dishes to ensure diversity, high quality, freshness and healthiness
- Hands on who will jump in other areas where needed
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff
- Responsible for portion, stock and waste control
- Some creativity and high presentation standards
The Candidate:
- Highly organised with strong communication and personal skills
- Experience in working under pressure in a fast environment including working in an a la carte kitchen and prep/function kitchen
- Knowledge in food quality control
- Chef Trade qualifications
- Be a multi-functional chef with experience in functions
- Flexibility and available to work a 7 day, rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
- Understanding strict health and hygiene standards and Workplace Health & Safety legislation
