The Gig As our Commis Chef you’ll be cooking up a storm, lovingly preparing each and every dish for our guests using locally sourced and seasonal produce. This is a Full-time role and will require flexibility in your availability. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Take control of the breakfast / lunch / dinner service and ensure guests receive a truly delicious and memorable experienceSetting up and cleaning down the kitchen after serviceEnsure all stocks are kept under optimum conditionsEnsure all mis-en-place is always freshly prepared and on timeEnsure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity.Ensure the department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up-to-dateEnsure any anticipated issues are communicated promptly to the Head ChefEnsure all staff under your control are treated fairly and with courtesyEnsuring and controlling levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basisCollect feedback from the guest and report to Executive chef on any complaints or issuesMonitor that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all timesPersonal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation and hygieneAssist with producing menus and new dishesActively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefingsAbout youAt Ovolo, we are all about YOU.
