As the key point of contact for our business in the southern region of Australia, this role involves the development and execution of business-wide and tailored internal and external communication strategies. Based either in Brisbane or Melbourne, you will develop strong relationships with leaders and employees in corporate and project roles.BMD is Australia's leading integrated engineering, construction and urban development business. As a strong writer who has a flair for, and interest in, corporate communications, you will apply your skills across the marketing communications suite to:
- Act as Business Partner for a portfolio of key sectors in alignment with our clients, markets, growth sectors and businesses strategic objectives, developing strong relationships with leaders and team members across the business but in particular in the southern region (NSW, VIC, SA).
- Develop a wide range of internal and external communication collateral (including case studies, speeches, media releases, presentations, briefing notes, newsletters, web content, brochures, fact sheets, industry awards, capability statements, social media and creative copy), both independently and as part of a team.
- Champion the brand reputation of the BMD Group, creating and curating content and designing campaigns for internal and external audiences.
- Simplify and convey complex issues to diverse audiences using your exceptional research and written and verbal communication skills.
- Successfully navigate complex and changing priorities within the fast paced construction sector.
- Gain support and commitment from the business to implement creative approaches, and actively engage with leaders effectively to achieve sponsorship for activities.
- Be challenged to perform at your best, with opportunities to learn the industry through mentors and subject matter experts to achieve your career goals.
- Possess a bachelor qualification in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or similar.
- 6+ years' experience in a communications role.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Excellent communication and people skills, with an ability to develop relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
- Preferably experience working in the construction industry or other related discipline.
- Capacity and willingness to work out of hours, with interstate travel to our construction sites as required.
