About the role
This role sits within the Marketing & Communications team and is responsible for developing engaging, quality contact for publication across Cancer Council Queensland’s print and digital channels. In this role, you will work with a range of stakeholders to develop content for the CCQ website, newsletters, key messaging, media releases, Marketing and PR campaigns. The successful candidate will have a passion for storytelling and an ability to create compelling content in line with CCQ’s strategy.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to be a creative, team player with proven experience managing and creating content for a wide range of audiences across various communications channels.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Essential Skills:
- Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Marketing and/or Communications
- Highly developed skills in writing, reviewing, and editing content for a wide range of audiences, with excellent attention to detail.
- Highly developed time management skills in order to meet strict deadlines.
- Experience in developing and managing detailed content calendars.
- Demonstrated experience working in digital communications, including website Content Management Systems. Computer literacy with MS Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, with a high level of initiative and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a cohesive team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with experience effectively communicating with all levels through the organisation including peers, volunteers, and executive management.
- Ability to work with changing priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment ensuring quality output.
- Advanced experience in interviewing skills, dealing particularly with sensitive topics and case studies.
- Extensive understanding of and exposure to issues relating to media and current public affairs.
- Knowledge of or proven experience working within the health sector.
- Knowledge of or proven experience working within a charity or non-for-profit organisation.
