Communications Advisor Projects

Position No. 994

Temporary Full-Time (12 months)

Band 6 $87,590 - $93,340 yearly, plus 11% statutory superannuation

We are looking for a communications professional who will support and advance Wellington Shire Council's communications, marketing and advocacy priorities. You will be the one who will plan, coordinate and execute key communication projects that will support Council's strategic goals and initiatives.

As well as key communications tasks, the Communications Advisor ? Projects will have a focus on the sustainable adoption and delivery of the Communications and Media Review, supporting the delivery of improved ways of working across both the Communications function and wider organisation.

What your day will look like:

  • Produce high quality communications content, supported by the Communications and Media team.
  • Support strategic communications projects, with a focus on Council's strategic direction and priorities of the Council Plan and sub-plans.
  • Design, deliver and evaluate communications projects across the organisation.
  • Identify ways to improve internal and external communication by keeping up to date with and considering new trends and technology.
  • Support the organisation to transition to new ways of engaging with the Communications and Media function.

  • Understanding of local government and political environments

We are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, media, journalism, public relations OR
  • Demonstrated experience in a communications role or communications project management.
  • Knowledge of all levels of government.
  • Experience using digital communications and engagement channels.
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal skills to influence and persuade a range of internal and external stakeholders.
