The Wet Tropics Management Authority is looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer to help raise awareness of the importance of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area and encourage people to protect this special place.
Based in Cairns, this full-time permanent position works across all program areas to disseminate key messages to the community supporting the Authority's vision 'to protect the values of the Wet Tropics through collaboration, culture, knowledge and passion'.
Working in a small team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of media, education, communication and community engagement activities. The role involves organising community engagement events, providing support to program activities, developing communication products, and collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders, including representatives from government, the tourism industry, Rainforest Aboriginal organisations, conservation groups and the community.
