The Royal Australian Institute of Architects is the peak body for the architectural profession in Australia, representing more than 14,500 members. The Institute works to improve our built environment by promoting quality, responsible and sustainable design, promoting the architectural profession and being the public voice for architecture.
Key Responsibilities
In accordance with Institute policies, procedures and guidelines and working in association with relevant staff, responsibilities will include:
Website
- Maintain existing Institute web pages and digital assets using the current content management systems
- Create and build visual concepts and suggested layouts for web pages and campaign sites within established templates and Institute brand guidelines
- Undertake initial and ongoing research and analysis of website engagement and provide reports
- Apply quality assurance procedures to Institute websites and campaign sites
- Contribute to the development of the strategic direction of Institute websites and campaign sites for key activities.
- Use web analytics and other research to provide insights that inform the development of current and future digital projects
- Provide advice and guidance on best practices in the development of websites for marketing, engagement and member retention and recruitment activities
Digital Communications
- Design, build, populate and send digital communications (e-newsletters and EDMs)
- Curate content and messaging for the Institute’s regular e-newsletters, the Institute’s advocacy updates and additional digital communications
- Ensure all digital communications are on brand and on message
- Maintain content, advertising and broadcast schedules
- Coordinate e-communication sends
Social Media
- Curate content across Institute channels as needed
Design for Digital
- Editing and optimising imagery for web using Adobe Creative Cloud
- Maintain templates for the Institute’s e-communications
- Provide collateral specifications and liaise with suppliers
Key Selection Criteria:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Email marketing platforms (e.g. HubSpot), website CMS’s (e.g. WordPress),
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and various social media channels
- HTML editors (e.g. Dreamweaver)
- Experience in content creation and management, preference for Adobe CC skills in InDesign, Photoshop and editing software
- Experience/ability to develop comprehensive guidelines for internal and external use
- Experience across various social media channels
- Attention to detail and ability to manage workload across different projects
- Strong collaborative relationship management
- Creative personality with an aptitude for innovative ideas and problem solving
The following is highly desirable:
- Industry or Association experience
- A tertiary qualification in marketing, communication or related field
- Experience in working with or an understanding of the architecture and built environment sector and an empathy with design excellence is desirable
- Experience with relevant software and platforms including digital reporting (e.g. Google Analytics and Tag Manager) and digital marketing (e.g. Google Ads, Facebook for Business, LinkedIn Ads)
