About the role
Join our Communications team in a dynamic role focused on crafting engaging and timely communications for our members and stakeholders. In this position, you will be instrumental in producing our weekly newsletter, collaborating closely with Content Specialists to plan and develop impactful content while also monitoring its success. Additionally, you will play a key role in managing the Engineers Australia website, handling incoming requests, updating content, and providing expert advice on communications and digital best practices to stakeholders. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about delivering high-quality communications and enhancing our digital presence.
Location
This role is based in Melbourne.
In this role you will:
- Assist with the production of the weekly member newsletter, including edition planning, copywriting, website updates, and build and distribution in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Research talent for our student and graduate communications
- Assist with the management of the corporate website, including monitoring and acting on site health and analytics, and working with stakeholders to ensure content is meeting its objectives
- Provide communications expertise in digital content structure, layout and search optimisation
- Report on performance of content (enewsletters, website content, videos, etc.) using various tools, including Marketing Cloud and Google Analytics and Ahrefs
- Uphold editorial, tone of voice, brand, SEO and accessibility standards
- Bring ideas to the team to improve engagement, such as suggesting different content angles or solutions, and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement
- Assist with social media scheduling, monitoring and reporting as required

- You have tertiary qualifications in Communications or related field
- You are comfortable using a variety of digital platforms to create, publish and monitor content
- You have an eye for a good story and can craft compelling copy
- You can communicate complex or technical information in an accessible way
- You understand how to write for search engine optimisation (SEO) and to accessibility standards
- You have strong organisational skills and an eye for detail
- You can manage tight regular deadlines on high-visibility products and projects
- You are comfortable managing stakeholders and negotiating deadlines
- You are proactive, creative in your thinking and comfortable sharing ideas
- You are highly motivated and thrive in a collaborative team environment
