ACCIONA are now looking for a Communications Design Engineer to join the Design team. Reporting to the Design Director at our main office in Sydney CBD, this role will be a vital part of the team.
Specific Tasks Include
- Communication Network Design:
Design communication networks, including LANs, WANs, and other architectures.
Proficiently select network topology, protocols, and technologies based on project requirements.
- Protocols and Standards:
In-depth knowledge of communication protocols such as IP-MPLS, MPLS-TP, SDH, and other network layer protocols.
Ensure compliance with industry standards for interoperability and regulatory requirements.
- Cybersecurity Focus:
Implement cybersecurity principles in communication system design.
Design secure systems with encryption, access controls, and other measures against unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Scalability and Redundancy:
Design systems with scalability and redundancy in mind.
Plan for future growth, ensuring networks can accommodate increased traffic and additional devices.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with professionals from diverse disciplines.
Translate project requirements, understand stakeholder needs, and integrate communication systems seamlessly.
- Documentation and Execution:
Create designs and documentation using AutoCAD.
Collaborate with drafters for timely execution and design verification of projects.
- Leadership and Mentorship:
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to emerging engineers.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in design for communication networks within the industry.
- High attention to detail, time, and stakeholder management capabilities.
