  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including journalists, to deliver on Community Health First’s objectives.
  • Investigating new ways to tell the story of Community Health in Victoria.
  • Participating, as required, in external stakeholder relations, briefing spokespeople, developing speaking notes for external engagements
  • Supporting communications staff in partner organisations with brand guidance and maintaining shared assets through a resource library
  • Supporting key events throughout the year, ranging from CEO workshops to parliamentary delegations, with written materials and project management.

What you will bring

The skills and experience you will bring to this role

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant on the job experience in communications, marketing, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in pitching to media and responding to media enquiries
  • Current media relationships or ability to develop them
  • Demonstrated experience in developing communication materials and providing communication advice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create, write, edit and proof content for a range of audiences and channels to meet tight deadlines
  • Finding and sharing interesting and unique stories that engage new audiences.
  • Experience in event planning or support.
  • Knowledge and experience using information systems, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Desirable – experience with WordPress, Campaign Monitor, InDesign, Canva and social media platforms.

Attributes

  • Demonstrated organisational capabilities and attention to detail with strong time management skills
  • A team player with well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with a range of people
  • An ability to work sensitively with people of diverse cultures, abilities, ages, sexualities and gender identities
  • Understanding of the Victorian Community Health sector, or an interest in working in Community Health
  • Project management or campaign management experience
  • Demonstrated behaviours consistent with Access Health and Community values
