Reporting direct to the CEO and working alongside the Marketing Manager and Marketing Executive, this is a permanent, full-time role working from Fink HQ in Surry Hills. This role will require occasional travel.
COMMUNICATIONS
- Develop and implement effective internal and external communication strategies for the group that are consistent with the brand identity and key messaging of each restaurant.
- Further develop and implement the tone of voice for Fink and the restaurants across all internal and communication channels.
- Develop and oversee all external and internal communication and messaging across the group (marketing, PR, HR, recruitment, reservations, events and restaurant collateral) ensuring that brand values are met and maintained at all times.
- Create informative and engaging communication material for all internal and external channels, including copywriting for eDMs, social and web, and copy for digital campaigns.
- Help in designing and reviewing a variety of marketing, promotional and restaurant materials, including guest communications via reservations.
- Advise and guide Fink on managing communication around a range of corporate and crisis situations when needed (with support from Fink’s crisis communication agency).
- Manage development and implementation of crisis response strategies, reactive statements, FAQs and other deliverables as needed. Execute proactive and reactive media relations strategies as needed.
- Manage the Communications & PR budget for each restaurant in tandem with the Marketing Manager. Monitor, analyse and communicate performance of communication and PR activities.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
- Work with internal stakeholders to plan, create and develop all public relations initiatives, campaigns and compelling stories to secure high quality exposure and brand visibility across traditional and non-traditional channels.
- Review and manage all media and interview requests.
- Build, maintain and leverage relationships with media, key opinion leaders and thought leaders.
- Host and showcase the restaurants to media and key opinion leaders.
- Manage the reputation of the restaurants via exposure, reviews, awards and sponsorship of events.
- Establish and develop media facing representatives for each venue including training and guiding talent to communicate effectively.
- Identify, nurture and grow rising talent within the group.
- Secure, evaluate and manage partnership opportunities for the restaurants and key talent to drive additional revenue and/or media placement.
- Manage key talent within the group with regards to calendars, events and appearance fees.
- Key contact for chefs when communication and presenting opportunities that come through Fink Head Office.
GENERAL
- Work closely with Marketing Manager on new projects to ensure communication and messaging remains consistent across the brands.
- Track competitor activities by keeping up to date with communication and PR activities including event/special offers with support from Marketing Executive.
- Observe and maintain a key understanding of industry news and trends to identify communications and public relationship opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, PR, Communications, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6-8 experience working in Communications and PR, in house or agency.
- Have led Communications and PR campaigns, planning them from idea to execution.
- Passion and understanding for the hospitality and food industry.
- Have a full understanding of media needs and media relationships, strong media relationships within the hospitality industry are necessary.
- Agile with the ability to problem solve and run with opportunities as they arise.
- Have experience working closely alongside an in-house Marketing team.
- Highly developed communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Thorough understanding of all digital channels and digital/social trends.
- Experience managing budgets.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Experience in stakeholder relations at a senior level.
- Computer literacy (Canva, excel, word, internet, email etc.)
