About the role

Reporting to the Future Now Program Manager, the Communications Specialists will provide change communications support and delivery across designated initiatives at Engineers Australia (EA) – with a focus on the Future Now program.

This is a 12 months Fixed term contract with view to extend. This is role can be based in any of our offices across Australia however Brisbane or Sydney are preferred. 

In this role, you will:

• Passionate about effective communication, with demonstrated experience in communications within a professional business environment
• Works well in project teams and environments, and drives team coherence through visible communication
• Experienced in developing communication plans and supporting project managers with communication activities to achieve project milestones.
• Strong verbal and written communications, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook, with advanced competency in PowerPoint.
• Creative writer and excellent storyteller, with a passion for crafting compelling and simple narratives, and celebrating and promoting success.
• Able to take complex topics and craft into change communications that meet the needs of the audience.
• Comfortable working autonomously, and collaboratively, building effective relationships with stakeholders, senior leaders and the program team.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Relevant degree and experience in communications or publishing, using digital channels
• Works well in project teams and environments, and drives team coherence through visible communication
• Experienced in developing communication plans and supporting project managers with communication activities to achieve project milestones.
• Passionate about effective communication, with demonstrated experience in communications within a professional business environment
• Proficient with Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook, with advanced competency in PowerPoint.
• Creative writer and excellent storyteller, with a passion for crafting compelling and simple narratives, and celebrating and promoting success.
• Able to take complex topics and craft into change communications that meet the needs of the audience.
• Comfortable working autonomously, and collaboratively, building effective relationships with stakeholders, senior leaders and the program team.
• Confident presenting at all levels, and raising communication risks or issues across a variety of stakeholder groups.
• Active and visible advocate for employee communications, and is advanced in using various technology platforms to coordinate and communicate messaging
