As the Communications Specialist based in Hobart you will play a pivotal role in our mission. We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate, and adaptive individual to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the delivery and evaluation of internal and external communications and marketing across Beacon Foundation in accordance with the Communications & Marketing strategy, making a tangible impact on the lives of young people in the region.

About the role:

In this role you will be accountable for

  • Creating, implementing and evaluating key communication activities and messages to defined target audiences to establish and drive strategy between Beacon and its stakeholders
  • Leading existing communications and marketing strategies and proposing new initiatives that lift the profile of the Beacon brand
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with key media and government stakeholders that result in increased media exposure and achievement towards Beacon’s strategy
  • Work closely with funders and partners on marketing campaigns and strategic communications for programs and initiatives 

About you:

  • You are committed to effecting real change and making a positive difference in the lives of young people
  • Outstanding written, editorial and verbal communication skills with substantial experience writing high quality content and documents for a range of audiences.
  • At least 5 years’ experience successfully developing, implementing and evaluating communications, marketing and brand strategies 
  • Understanding and experience in dealing with stakeholders such as Political, Government, Corporate, Philanthropic and other key groups
