About the role

This role contributes to the success of the City by providing support for internal and external Media and public communications for key business divisions and strategic initiatives.

Role accountabilities include: 

  • Create and manage Media & Communications Activity Plans for Division and Organisation Campaign initiatives. 
  • Creates and delivers a variety of types of communication content designed to maximise and uphold the City of Hobart brand and positively affect public engagement across all channels. 
  • Identify and create communication opportunities that contribute positively to the City’s brand, and reputation, across traditional and digital communication platforms.

The desired applicant will have;

  • Degree in Communications or a related field coupled with significant experience in news media or a communications role involving strategy, social media, web content, publications and media relations within a diverse organisation.
  • Current Driver Licence.
