Reporting to the Manager, Media and Communications, this key role will be responsible for delivering plans and strategies to assist in communities and key stakeholders in Victoria.
Working closely with members of the Victorian business and the broader Corporate Affairs team, the role will be responsible for leading the development and implementation key communications, community relations and stakeholder relations for CityLink operations, asset management and projects and other business initiatives in Victoria.
The role will ensure the community and relevant internal and external stakeholders are engaged and informed about any construction works, road impacts or projects and will work closely with the Victorian operations, maintenance and delivery teams, as well as contractors to ensure the activities consider and mitigate, where possible, community impacts and facilitate the delivery of high quality and timely communications.
You will be responsible for:
- Community and Stakeholder Relationships - leading the development and implementation of community and stakeholder relations plans
- Effectively manage consultation and communication processes
- Build community relationships, including through involvement in community events or other engagement opportunities
- Oversee the planning and delivery of community communications for major projects, as required
- Build and maintain relationships with key agencies including Department of Transport and other major project authorities to ensure appropriate communications and coordination
- Communications - lead the planning and delivery of communications plans, activities and programs
- Provide support on the delivery of social investments, campaign and marketing initiatives, as required
- Issues management - proactively identify community impacts of operations and projects, and provide strategic advice to work to mitigate or limit
- Work with key internal and external stakeholders to effectively identify and manage emerging reputation issues
- Traffic Communications - lead the coordination and development and delivery of communications plans and strategies for all planned CityLink road works and road closures
- Tertiary qualifications in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Commerce or Business
- Community and stakeholder engagement – demonstrated ability to lead the development and implementation of roadworks and project communications and community engagement strategies and lead engagement activities
- Demonstrated ability to identify emerging community, media and stakeholder issues and reputational risks and provide strategic advice to key personnel, as well as develop strategies to effectively manage risk
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior business leaders, community leaders and government representatives and able to work in a matrix environment
- Excellent project management and analytical skills
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills
- Communications management - demonstrated ability to prepare strategic briefing materials and concise reports for a range of audiences, including senior executives
- Proven ability to develop and deliver communications strategies to support business objectives, using a broad range of channels, including digital channels
- Ability to manage a program of communications, to tight timeframes and seek inputs across teams to meet objectives
- Exposure working in infrastructure will be highly regarded
