About the position:
Woomera Aboriginal Corporation is looking for a part-time Community Connections Officer to work in partnership with the local Aboriginal community and other relevant stakeholders to enhance access to established supports and services that meet the needs of individuals and the community.
The Community Connections Officer is required to establish and maintain a network of mutually beneficial relationships, with the aim of maximising opportunities for linkages and referrals, to improve service outcomes for Aboriginal people in the Albury area.
The Community Connections Officer will identify service, social participation and community engagement barriers and assist in developing solutions to those barriers e.g., organising community events. The CCO will provide information and advice, and advocate for solutions to meet the needs of our Aboriginal community.
This is an identified position and Proof of Aboriginality is a legitimate requirement. Exemption is claimed under Section 14d of the Anti-discrimination Act.

Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum Cert IV in Community Services or relevant
- A demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people including culture, strengths and any barriers faced in accessing opportunities
- Demonstrated strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of the wider Woomera team, to plan, organise own work in meeting deadlines, and achieve identified objectives and targets
- A current NSW Working with Children’s Check
- A current satisfactory National Police Check
- A current driver’s license
Desirable Skills &Knowledge or Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience working in Community Services
- Previous experience in organsing events and stakeholder engagement
- Established ties within the Aboriginal community in the Albury region and have knowledge of the local area and local people
