The Role
We have an exciting new part-time position within our growing Communities team as Community Development Officer - Diversity and Inclusion
As Community Development Officer - Diversity and Inclusion, you will work with individuals, communities and organisations of Hedland in a meaningful, collaborative and capacity building manner. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference in Port Hedland as you plan, implement and evaluate Community Development initiatives with an emphasis on diversity, access and inclusion.
To succeed in this position, you will have demonstrated experience working within Community Development as well as knowledge on the challenges and opportunities affecting our community. Your previous experience working with a variety of stakeholders will be invaluable as you play a key role in building and maintaining meaningful, collaborative community relationships, ensuring the delivery of key actions outlined in the Town's strategic plans. An understanding of grants and other external funding processes will also be favourable for the position, as you will be required to identify and pursue additional funding opportunities to support community engagement projects and programs.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Town embarks on a culture of change with embracing of a wide range of new technologies, a large capital works program, and a number of other projects that make the Town a desirable place to live and work.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Demonstrated experience in the Community Development sector and/or tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Community Development or Social Science
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class drivers license
- Rights to work in Australia
