Job Description
You will be passionate about progressive politics and Greens values. You will work closely with Tasmanian Greens MPs to organise and engage the community, volunteers and supporters.
From campaigning to building strong relationships with local communities and supporters, you will have strong people skills and attention to detail.
The position will be based in Launceston and will require regular intrastate travel.
Duties
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with stakeholders, grassroots movements, community members, volunteers and supporters on behalf of the MPs.
- Identify and facilitate opportunities for these stakeholders to connect with MPs and their work in the parliament and the community (including but not limited to meetings, events, regional trips)
- Organise community and campaign engagement activities including events, forums and functions.
- Develop and implement a targeted Community Engagement plan.
- Recruit and activate volunteers.
- Maintain contact databases and other digital assets for community outreach.
Essential Requirements
A current drivers licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
Desirable Requirements
Background in community organising and/or campaigns.
Knowledge of the Tasmanian political system, Green politics and issues.

Position Description
Crown Prerogative Appointments
Employees of Members of Parliament are appointed with Crown Prerogative Instruments of Appointment. These staff are not State Service employees as they are not employed under the provisions of
the State Service Act 2000, or Award employees.
The period of appointment for these Appointees is:
- For the pleasure of the Premier’s delegate (the Leader of the Tasmanian Greens); or
- Until the resignation or termination of the Government; or
- For a period specified in the Instrument.
whichever occurs first.
Unless advertised for being for a specific period, there is not proposed to be a specific termination period in the instrument of appointment.
After an election contracts may be renewed for another term.
