About the role
In a human-centred organisation that deals with families and community members every day, the Community Engagement Manager will be values-aligned and purpose driven. This role will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deepen the links with the diverse communities that we serve. Deeper links with communities enhances GMCT's ability to generate public and community value above and beyond the delivery of essential services.
Key responsibilities include
- Plan, deliver and analyse Community Engagement activities, including digital engagement campaigns;
- Collaborate with the organisation to identify service needs that can be informed by a deeper understanding of community expectations;
- Manage and deliver the Have Your Say Panel, ensuring successful achievement of annual plan targets;
- Undertake research with hard to reach communities around death and memorialisation;
- Manage Community Engagement delivery, including managing internal and external stakeholders, and external suppliers;
- Build strong mutual relationships with stakeholders and key community groups;
- Deliver engagement projects to scope, schedule, budget and quality;
- Carry out any other relevant duties as directed by the General Manager Communications, Engagement & Partnerships
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Tertiary qualification and/or experience in similar role.
- Demonstrated five years or more experience in Community Engagement processes and principles.
- IAP2 certification and/or short course completion
- A passion for engaging with diverse communities (including those who may not traditionally have a strong voice) and involving them in organisational decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work with community stakeholders about proposed changes that may have an impact on them or their families.
- High level interpersonal and team skills, including the ability to work co-operatively and promote a positive team approach and the demonstrated ability to apply these with internal and external stakeholders
