As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, we play a leading role in reducing the impact of all cancers on all people.The Prevention Division aims to reduce the risk of cancer in the Victorian population through social marketing, advocacy, professional training and providing advice based on the best available evidence. This involves action to affect individual behaviours and the broader physical and legislative environment to support health and wellbeing. Our programs include: Quit Victoria, SunSmart, Achievement Program, cancer screening early detection and immunisation, the Food For Health Alliance, and alcohol policy. Saving lives and equitably improving health outcomes through early detection, screening, and community-based initiatives is a key goal for Cancer Council Victoria, with a focus on:Increasing cervical screening to help fast track the elimination of cervical cancer by 2030.Advocating for programs that will address the growing burden of liver cancer.Developing and implementing effective bowel cancer screening campaigns and programs to increase participation in the national screening program.Advocating for evidence-based early detection and screening initiatives.About your opportunityWe are seeking a Community Engagement Lead to join the Prevention Division. Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager your role is to:Identify opportunities to reach priority population groups through innovative and culturally relevant community-based programs. Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of community programs for priority population groups relating to cancer screening, early detection and HPV immunisation. Develop and deliver training workshops, presentations and community forums. Prepare and/or contribute to written reports and articles, including reports to funding bodies and key stakeholders; progress reports; evaluation reports and newsletters, and publications.Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with relevant community peak bodies, government departments and other stakeholders at local and state levels.Line management responsibilities; providing direction, support and performance monitoring for 1-2 staff.All about youWe are looking for someone with: A tertiary degree in health promotion, community development or a related field.Demonstrated experience in managing people and projects, implementation and evaluation in Community Engagement, health promotion or related fields.Experience working with priority population groups, such as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples, culturally diverse groups, people with a disability, LGBTIQ or communities affected by social and economic disadvantage.High level organisational and time management skills including the ability to effectively coordinate multiple partnerships and projects concurrently.Excellent communication skills including the ability to present information simply and clearly in written and verbal forms to a wide range of professional and community groups.What we can offer you A flexible and supportive workplace, with excellent work-life balance and opportunities for career progression and development.The opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by cancerA base salary within range $81,520 - $88,000 pa plus superannuationSalary packaging benefits of $15,900 plus meals/entertainment $2,650 p.a. https://www.accesspay.com.au/employee/what-is-salary-packaging/Novated car leasingSalary sacrifice17.5% leave loadingCultural leave of up to 5 days paid12 weeks paid parental leave and up to 12 months unpaid leaveA comprehensive employee assistance programA range of wellness initiatives such as an employee assistance programs, flu vaccination, mental and general well-being support, and discounted health insurance.To apply and for more infoTo apply for this opportunity, visit http://www.cancervic.org.au/about/careers/job-opportunities to download a Position Description and upload your Resume and Cover Letter.
