As an independent, not-for-profit organisation, we play a leading role in reducing the impact of all cancers on all people.The Prevention Division aims to reduce the risk of cancer in the Victorian population through social marketing, advocacy, professional training and providing advice based on the best available evidence. This involves action to affect individual behaviours and the broader physical and legislative environment to support health and wellbeing. Our programs include: Quit Victoria, SunSmart, Achievement Program, cancer screening early detection and immunisation, the Food For Health Alliance, and alcohol policy. Saving lives and equitably improving health outcomes through early detection, screening, and community-based initiatives is a key goal for Cancer Council Victoria, with a focus on:Increasing cervical screening to help fast track the elimination of cervical cancer by 2030.Advocating for programs that will address the growing burden of liver cancer.Developing and implementing effective bowel cancer screening campaigns and programs to increase participation in the national screening program.Advocating for evidence-based early detection and screening initiatives.About your opportunityWe are seeking a Community Engagement Lead to join the Prevention Division. Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager your role is to:Identify opportunities to reach priority population groups through innovative and culturally relevant community-based programs. Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of community programs for priority population groups relating to cancer screening, early detection and HPV immunisation. Develop and deliver training workshops, presentations and community forums.
