About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Community Engagement Ministry Worker! You will work as a part of the Merri-bek City Salvos Team to oversee all current and new community ministries, to develop, facilitate and deliver quality strengths-based community programs.
Responsibilities include
- Responsible for existing community ministries and activities
- Lead a team of Community Engagement volunteers, including management and administrative responsibilities and spiritual leadership
- Coordinates and facilitates community partnership meetings with internal and external community partners
- Provide leadership assistance i fundraising events including, but not limited to, Red Shield Appeal and Christmas Cheer
- Assist with general correspondence and office enquiries regarding Community, community partnerships etc
- Supports Pastoral Ministry of Merri-bek City Salvos
This is a permanent full-time position, based in Coburg North and Brunswick, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 2 Award.
What you will have
- Minimum Diploma in either Community services or Chaplaincy (desirable)
- Leadership experience in a local church either as a volunteer or staff member
- Experience in Community Engagement on behalf of a religious institution or not-for-profit organisation (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience developing and running community-based activities
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level of customer service
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate with community partners and community members
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of volunteers
