You deliver on our promise to achieving exceptional participants' experience and as a Community Engagement Officer, you will be the first point of contact, assist with transition planning with all stakeholders from initial enquiry through to move in, engage with local community organisations, regional and state government, and other community minded organisations to generate opportunities for people with disability to find the best housing and services they need to live life to the fullest.
You will be responsible for establishing, strengthening, and maintaining strong, positive relationships with organisations who can connect us with people who need what we offer.
Working within our team, you will be utilising key engagement opportunities such as community forums and other relevant interactions to communicate what we offer and generate a fulfilling experience for some of the most precious and vulnerable people in our community.
Whilst achieving agreed performance targets, you will report regularly on activities undertaken, outcomes, insights, market trend information, and recommendations on business growth opportunities.
This role is a casual position, based in Geelong with regular travel required throughout Geelong.
About you
We are seeking a truly passionate Leader who relishes responsibility for driving growth and business development.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Sound understanding of NDIS price guide, completing schedule of support agreements and tenancy agreements.
- Strong referral connections, and local knowledge of the area
- Strong communication and engagement skills to build collaborative partnerships.
- The ability to identify opportunities and demonstrate Community Engagement experience.
- Well-developed stakeholder negotiation skills to deliver solutions that meet the needs of NDIS Participants.
- Two years’ experience in similar role within a human services environment
- An empathetic, positive and warm approach to special people facing enormous challenges with the ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
- The capacity to build strong relationships internally and externally
- a record of organisational skills including an ability to plan, prioritise, monitor workload, deadlines and meet KPIs accordingly.
- The ability to implement and comply with relevant regulation, policies and procedures.

- NDIS Worker Orientation certificate
- Your own vehicle & an unrestricted driving license.
