Community and Stakeholder Engagement Officers

How you will make a difference
These roles combine knowledge and expertise in communications, Stakeholder Engagement, community engagement, and public participation with continuous improvement skills. You will provide expert advice, support, and project liaison to key stakeholders. Your primary focus will include offering strategic initiative input, effective stakeholder and community engagement management, program planning, and contributing to internal business improvement initiatives for both stakeholder and community engagement support.
No two days in this role will be the same. The ideal candidates will have the ability to pivot based on the priority of the day and apply their technical and transferrable skills to deliver on specific engagement priorities, including but not limited to complex and signature project engagement planning and execution, and delivery of community engagement programs across the whole of the City.

- Proven expertise in strategic guidance, assistance, and project coordination for key stakeholders.
- Skilled in evaluating and enhancing Stakeholder Engagement strategies and communication plans.
- Strong understanding of stakeholder and community engagement principles and processes.
- Proven ability to advise on community engagement and Stakeholder management.
- Ability to quickly develop strategic advisory and project liaison skills for key external stakeholders.
- Ability to leverage IAP2 principles, city insights, and technical expertise to advise key internal stakeholders and promote continuous improvement.
- Experience in developing and managing stakeholder and community engagement strategies across disciplines.
- Effective in communicating and implementing changes across multiple disciplines.
- High-level written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse professionals.
- Team player with the ability to thrive in a multi-skilled team environment.
- Self-motivated and demonstrated initiative, creativity and the ability to foster enthusiasm among fellow staff.
