This is a key role for the Marketing and Fundraising team and will be responsible for supporting with the building and strengthening relationships with key external stakeholders and audiences (including but not limited to Schools, corporate organisations, community centres and organisations) by organising and delivering Community Engagement activities and events that directly support community fundraising efforts.
The Community Engagement Officer Tasmania (South) will work in collaboration with the Senior Community Engagement Coordinator Tasmania to deliver against the strategic direction for all community fundraising activities and events, including key annual community fundraising initiatives. The Community Engagement Officer Tasmania (South) is responsible and accountable for the development and delivery of the Mini and Model Dogs placement program strategy.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:
Support the Senior Community Engagement Coordinator Tasmania to develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and audiences to maximise community fundraising and engagement opportunities.
Assist the Senior Community Engagement Coordinator (Tasmania) to provide support to individuals and organisations that are raising funds on behalf of Guide Dogs and VisAbility Tasmania South.
Engage with external stakeholders and audiences to promote the work of Guide Dogs and VisAbility Tasmania and contribute towards the identification of potential donors and/or community fundraising partners.
Collaborate with the Senior Community Engagement Coordinator Tasmania to support with the planning and execution of Community Engagement events and activities.
Support with the identification and evaluation of new and existing Community Engagement and fundraising partnerships with organisations and groups to support the organisations community fundraising objectives and targets.
Support with the delivery of new and existing Community Engagement and fundraising partnership agreements and initiatives to maximise community fundraising opportunities.
Support with the development of presentations, workshops, and information sessions to educate stakeholders about the organisation's services and the opportunities we offer
Maintain database records of interactions and partnerships and provide regular reports on engagement activities to the Senior Community Engagement Coordinator Tasmania so that these can be shared and actioned with the relevant teams across the organisation.
Skills and attributes:
Proven experience in Community Engagement and/or partnership building.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
Results-driven with a focus on expanding the organisation's reach and impact

Previous experience working in the disability sector.
