We’re seeking a Community Engagement Officer
for our Advocacy, Communications, Engagement and Performance Team.
The Team oversees Council's public relations,
marketing, communications and promotions, leading advocacy and ensuring best
practice Community Engagement.
The person in this role will provide advice and
support Council-wide, focusing on thoughtful approaches to planning and
delivering Community Engagement.

About the role:
Help build the
organisation’s capability in planning and delivering Community Engagement
Develop and maintain
projects on Council's online engagement hub, Shaping Banyule
Deliver clear
communication through plain language and appealing visuals aligned with
Council's brand identity
Monitor and strategise
to sustain community participation in engagement opportunities
Provide
continuous support to teams across Council to analyse data and share
consultation findings.
Skills, experience and certificates:
A recognised qualification in public relations, a communications
discipline, journalism or Community Engagement is desirable
Relevant experience in a
communications and/or Community Engagement role, leading the development of
writing and visual material for a broad audience.
Strong experience in digital
communications and understanding of digital content and accessibility
principles.
Training or experience in
Community Engagement practices and principles.
Training in graphic
design/layout – desirable.
Current Victorian driver’s licence.
Mandatory Pre-employment
