Community Engagement Specialist
- Permanent Full-time Opportunity (35-hour week)
- Saray Ranging from $93,723.76 - 108,720.04 p.a + 11% Superannuation. (Depending on Experience)
The Opportunity
Wingecarribee Shire Council has an opportunity for an experienced Community Engagement Specialist to join our Communications and Engagement team working on a range of engagement projects. Utilising your skills and experience, you will develop, deliver and evaluate diverse engagement programs using a broad range of engagement tools and techniques. Additionally, you will conduct statistical analysis of resident feedback and compile high quality analytical and interpretive reports.
You will demonstrate effective interpersonal skills by establishing a positive working relationship with a broad range of stakeholders as well as developing broad ranging communications and engagement strategies to promote Council's projects, priorities and services to help maintain the integrity and accuracy of information to the community. The Communications and Engagement team are a newly formed team with an energetic and pro-active team culture. Our idea l candidate is a passionate advocate for engagement, a strategic thinker, a great team player and must have significant and broad experience in the design and delivery of engagement campaigns and programs.
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in social sciences or related discipline.
- IAP2A Certificate in Engagement or willingness to complete.
- Extensive experience in and working with individuals and community groups.
- Demonstrated high level skills in research, analysis, reporting and excellent oral, written and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in developing and implementing contemporary Community Engagement principles, processes and practices, including online consultation.
- Demonstrated project management experience and online engagement platforms.
- Flexible approach to working hours (some evening and weekend work may be required).
- Demonstrated understanding of WH&S and EEO.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
