About the role
We are seeking a values-driven Community Engagement Support Worker who will engage and provide relevant assistance, support to individuals and families through crisis intervention; support activities and community connections as directed by management in line with TSA Mission. Offer appropriate support to community members within a client focussed framework, including relationship development, assessment and referral, and development of community support.
You will successfully
Develop and deliver activities and strategies in consultation with management to identify, contact and engage with individuals and families in order to respond to their immediate needs.
Individuals and families are, where appropriate, engaged in planned support and other relevant local programs and activities.
Community Members, depending on need, are connected with relevant specialist services, family and community supports.
In consultation with management, facilitate and oversee the implementation of programs and activities that improve client outcomes and address needs.
Attendance at relevant community forums, interagency meetings, seminars and workshops as agreed with management.
You will have
Tertiary qualifications in Community Services/Social Work – minimum certificate level and/or extensive relevant experience.
Ongoing professional development required to maintain skills for the role.
Current WWCC – Blue Card
Current Driver’s Licence
Minimum 2+ years experience in the implementation of support systems for disadvantaged and/or complex needs clients.
Experience working in collaboration with other organisations to develop and tailor programs to meet clients’ needs.
Proven experience in working with people of varying cultures, races, economic, social and educational background
Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation, advocacy and the ability to effectively engage with clients and other service providers.
Comprehensive understanding of the issues faced by families and individuals and the ability to engage people ‘at risk’ who have complex needs.
This is a permanent, part-time (18hrs per week, including 4hrs on Sunday Mornings) per week located in Inala, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Level 3 Award.
