Banksia Palliative Care Service, located in Heidelberg, is a not-for-profit community based Palliative Care organisation providing services across Banyule, Nillumbik and Whittlesea councils.
We have undergone continuous growth over recent years and we are not finished yet!
We want passionate Enrolled and Registered Nurses to join our team, experience in community nursing and/or Palliative Care is desirable but not essential. A positive and flexible attitude is key.
Noting that our clients are people, sometimes children, who are living with a progressive terminal illness and require specialist Palliative Care in their home, the successful candidate will:
- Have completed a Bachelor of Nursing or a Diploma of Nursing - mandatory.
- Have current, unrestricted AHPRA registration - mandatory.
- Be a kind and resilient person who thrives in a team.
- Have relevant clinical experience in Palliative Care (inpatient, aged care and/or community experience would be viewed favourably).
- Have a demonstrated ability to work unsupervised while maintaining accountability.
- Work a flexible roster which may include weekends, after-hours and on-call.
- Be willing to undertake education and training to learn about Palliative Care and community working models.
- Hold an unrestricted driver's license, have access to a car and be willing to use it for work when requested (with re-imbursement) - essential.
- Have permanent Australian residency - essential.
- Have a current working-with-children certificate and agree to have a national police check - mandatory.
