About the role
We are looking for a Casual Registered Nurse to join our small business which has experienced significant growth in the last year. Working flexible hours each week Monday to Friday. You will be traveling to visit clients throughout Sydney and other administrative duties will be carried out at home or in our Botany-based office.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
- Initial assessment of clients’ needs and implementation of ongoing care, coordination, case management, and care planning.
- Provision of excellent clinical care and service to clients in line with their personalized care plans and best clinical practices.
- Flexibility within the role from liaising with professionals, and home care providers, accepting referrals, arranging your own schedule and organizing clinical visits.
- Visit clients in their home setting to provide care including, but not limited to:
- Wound dressing
- Administering of medication
- Catheter changes
- Diabetes management
- Symptom management
- Cognitive assessments – RUDAS, PAS, MMSE
- Home care package assessments
- NDIS
- Provide clinical nursing advice and support to our customers and their families
- Liaison with Treating medical practitioners via phone and email
- Write detailed client reports
- Practice in accordance with the Insert relevant code of conduct/ethics/ legislation for NSW.
- Write initial assessment reports for provision of ongoing care, ensuring clinically effective, accurate notation that conforms to legal requirements.
About you
- You will be a Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of experience. Community nursing experience is preferred.
- You will have a good understanding of the aged care system.
- You must hold a valid driving license.
- You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to put clients at ease and be comfortable communicating well with a diverse community where English is not always the first language.
- You will have the ability to multitask, prioritize and manage your time effectively, be punctual and reliable and demonstrate a lot of empathy & patience.
- You will be kind, patient and versatile in your approach to clients and the different companies we work with
- Ability to adapt to your role which will vary day to day between clinical visits, accepting and arranging referrals, talking to home care package providers, and conducting clinical assessments
- You must have good decision-making skills and have adequate skills with technology and computers
- This role is versatile in nature and we are looking for a nurse who can grow with the company.
