Lifeline WA is currently seeking exceptional trainers (Independent Contractors) to deliver DV-alert training in Perth Metro and Regional WA.
About Lifeline WA
Lifeline WA provides all Western Australians experiencing a personal crisis or thinking about suicide with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. Our 13 11 14 service is a national crisis support number, available every day of the year, from any location in Australia. We aim to create opportunities for emotional well-being and provide a range of support services including:
- 24-hour Telephone Crisis Support - 13 11 14
- Online Crisis Support chat
- Workplace education and training programs
- Counselling services
- Information and resources
- Advocacy and community awareness
Lifeline WA believes that almost all suicides are preventable and that by connecting vulnerable people with crisis support, these people can be kept safe. Our vision is for a community free of suicide. Our purpose is to prevent suicide, support people in crisis and reduce the stigmas, which can be a barrier to people seeking help.
About the DV-alert program
DV-alert is a nationally recognised training program with training and assessment delivered by Lifeline Australia (RTO 88036) and approved third parties. The program is funded be the Australian Government Department of Social Services and as a key initiative under the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022 – 2023.
Our workshops provide a safe space for frontline workers to learn, connect and be empowered to recognise and respond confidently to those in crisis.
Who are we looking for?
DV-alert is led by experienced trainers dedicated to ending violence against women and children.
Lifeline WA is seeking Independent Contractors who have current experience working with people who are affected by family and domestic violence and are committed to playing a part to end family and domestic violence in Australia.
Lifeline WA delivers DV-alert training in the Perth Metro and Regional WA, the flexibility to travel to deliver workshops is beneficial.
Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and
- CHCDFV001 Recognise and respond appropriately to domestic and family violence
Essential Requirements
- Must undertake a police check
- Must have current Working with Children Check
Experience and Expertise
Essential Knowledge:
- Specialist knowledge on:
- domestic violence including state and Commonwealth legislation, policies, practice standards and risk assessment frameworks
- the National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022 – 2023
- trauma informed and strength-based approaches to delivering training
- communication
- self-awareness and growth
- problem solving and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated understanding and use of Adult Learning Principles and techniques
- Knowledge of theory of groups and group dynamics, including stages of group development and process
- Knowledge of design, facilitation, and evaluation processes of a training program
- Demonstrated understanding and adherence to Lifelines Vision, Beliefs and Shares Values
Essential Skills:
- The ability to impart and facilitate learning in areas relevant to the training program
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to work with others and as a part of a team to achieve the expression of Lifeline’s Vision, Purpose, and Guiding Principles
- The ability to work with a diverse range of people within Lifeline, including the training team, students, employed and voluntary personnel and the local community
- The ability to become actively involved in own professional development
- Maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment and compliance with Workplace Health and Safety Legislation requirements
