Community Safety Coordinator

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to undertake this leadership position. The successful applicant will lead and coordinate our local laws team and school crossing supervisors ensuring an efficient, effective and customer focused mantra is at the forefront of all services.

To be successful in this role you will need
Qualifications
Essential

• Tertiary qualification relevant to the position or extensive experience in a local laws or regulatory environment.

Experience
Essential

• Demonstrated ability to supervise and contribute effective to a small team.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement systems, policies and procedures to effectively deliver council programs and services.
• Experience in preparing works programs.
• The ability to manage complex conflicting work demands and meet reporting timelines.
• Strong risk analysis skills with particular emphasis on Community Safety outcomes.

Key selection criteria 1

• Experience in a regulatory environment, particularly animal control and local laws and a detailed understanding of legislative frameworks

Key selection criteria 2

• Experience in managing a customer focused team and setting annual work and training plans.

Key selection criteria 3

• Substantial experience and skills in conflict resolution and negation in accordance with policy and procedures demonstrated by a case study.

Key selection criteria 4

• Administrative skills including use of a variety of standard and tailored computer programs.
