Community Support Projects Officer
Opportunity to be part of an exciting community infrastructure project
Kew Library redevelopment
Temporary part time role (3 days per week) for 12 months
$93,559 - $101,795 per annum plus Super
We are seeking an experienced project officer to join Boroondara Library Service and be a key member of the team redeveloping Kew Library. This is a great opportunity if you wish to be part of delivering an infrastructure project, so it meets the current and future needs of the community. This is a temporary part time role working 3 days a week until 30 June 2026. (Note: specific days worked may vary each week)
A little bit about the role
The Kew Library redevelopment will either involve a new purpose-built facility, or refurbishment of the existing building. The (new) Kew Library will support lifelong learning for all, foster social connection and community participation, and engage families and children through:
Collection and reading spaces for children, teens and adults
Spaces for technology
Flexible Program spaces for library events and community activities
Versatile/multi-functional collaborative and study spaces, and
Community meeting spaces and noticeboards
This position is responsible for supporting the Kew Library redevelopment project within the Library Services Department. The role will support the feasibility and design process through consultation and stakeholder management during the project, including everything that contributes to the end user experience.

What are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you will have:
Demonstrated experience in project management, particularly with large scale community infrastructure projects
Demonstrated experience in managing community consultation and engagement processes
Demonstrated experience in preparing written reports, proposals, presentations and in the preparation of grant and sponsorship applications
Proven capacity to effectively communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders
A strong capacity to manage time, set priorities, and manage a number of tasks simultaneously
Employment Requirements
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check and hold a valid Working with Children Clearance.
A current Driver’s Licence is required.
All City of Boroondara employees must be fully vaccinated. Appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to provision of evidence of vaccination status or medical exemption prior to commencement.
