The senior role of Company Accountant is crucial to successfully growing our operating assets across Australia.
Responsibilities
1. Financial Record Keeping:
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries.
· Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
2. Month-End Close:
· Facilitate the month-end close process, including preparation of financial statements and variance analysis.
· Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information and address discrepancies.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
· Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts by providing accurate and timely financial information.
· Analyse budget variances and communicate insights to relevant stakeholders.
4. Financial Analysis:
· Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
· Generate reports and present findings to management.
5. Internal Controls:
· Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
· Identify and address any control weaknesses or deficiencies.
· Board paper reporting
6. Collaboration and Communication:
· Work closely with internal and external teams to gather financial data and support financial needs.
· Communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
7. General:
· Investor communications
· Debt facility management
· Audit controls management
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· CPA or relevant professional certification is a plus.
· Experience in project accounting or investment trusts is a plus.
· Xero experience compulsory
· Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a corporate setting.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
