Damon Australia Pty. Ltd. is a specialist manufacture and integrator of conveyors, conveyor rollers and conveyor systems. We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our team at our Craigieburn manufacturing plant. Damon Australia Pty. Ltd. is a subsidiary of Damon Technologies, a publicly listed company on the Shanghai stock exchange.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to Group Headquarters’ requirements.
- Maintaining accounting policies.
- Prepare financial statements in two currencies to meet reporting requirements.
- Liaise with Group accountants to ensure consistency in accounting policies and make necessary adjustments.
Prepare monthly financial statement and submit to the Group management.
- Generate monthly financial statements for Group’s internal review, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and variance analysis.
- Provide key financial metrics and performance indicators.
Month end and year end closings.
- Manage month end and year end closings. Including accrual journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure timely and accurate recordings of financial transactions.
- Reconcile with related parties and adjust as necessary.
- Verify and reconcile inventory in year-end.
Prepare budgets and forecasts.
- Prepare annual budgets.
- Prepare monthly rolling forecasts.
Liaise with external auditors.
- Liaise among the company, stakeholders, and external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
- Provide financial statements, transaction records, supporting documentation and others as required for the audit.
- Address inquiries from the auditors promptly and collaborate to resolve any issues identified.
- Identify opportunities for internal controls based on audit.
Payroll and superannuation.
- Process monthly payroll.
- Prepare quarterly superannuation contributions.
- Finalize Single Touch Payroll at year-end and prepare payment summaries to employees.
BAS, payroll tax, WorkCover.
- Prepare monthly Business Activity Statement.
- Prepare monthly payroll tax and year-end payroll tax reconciliation.
- Manage Workcover.
Projects.
- Issue project invoices and monitor project payments.
- Manage WIP accounting.
Accounts payable and receivable.
- Oversee AP and AR process. Ensure correct account allocation and tax coding.
- Manage foreign currency transactions.
- Land freight allocation.
Cash flow.
- Monitor cash position.
- Ensure timely payments and collections.
Reconciliation of bank accounts and credit.
Other
- ASIC compliance
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
Required Knowledge & Experience
- CPA or CA qualified with a Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting.
- At least 3 years experience as an accountant in Australia.
- Proficient in using MYOB AccountRight software.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite.
- The ability to read, write and speak Mandarin fluently.
- High level of attention to detail.
