About the opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Compliance Engineer to join the business based in Mount Waverley. Working across a great range of products and brands, the objective of this role is to collaborate across all teams and ensure that all our products across the Consumer and Floorcare division meet the TTI standards and continuously work towards exceeding our customers' expectations.
Reporting to the Head of Quality Engineer Compliance Safety you will:
- Manage, motivate, support and coach Compliance engineering team with excellent leadership
- Demonstrate true leadership, build passionate, professional, encouraging and supportive team culture
- Improve and maintain solid compliance processes
- Participate in internal and external regulatory meetings to understand the international and domestic regulatory policies and work closely with TTI global REG teams to protect and defend the best interest of the business
- Build strong relationships with TTI global counterparts as well as test labs, certifiers and regulators
- Provide technical support in any incident investigation, withdrawal or recall
- Identify opportunities for existing product improvements
What you will bring:
- A Technical background, Electrical or Mechanical qualification and/ or relevant industry experience
- Knowledge and passion in power tools, garden tools, and home appliances is highly desired
- Previous experience with product compliance, regulation/legislations and product safety from a supplier perspective is highly desirable
- A solid understanding of the Australian consumer law and the regulatory requirements
- Good mechanical aptitude and hands on experience with tools required to conduct analysis and assembly
- Process driven with the ability to develop, implement and drive product engineering processes
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and perform as a team player
- Solid time management and attention to detail
