About the Role:
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Compliance Manager to join our team in Sydney CBD. This role is crucial to ensure the effective operation of our compliance framework for the life insurance business. You will play a key role in identifying and addressing trends in quality assurance (QA) results, closing knowledge gaps within the broker team and Team Leaders, and supporting insurer relationships through effective complaint and dispute resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Address day-to-day QA queries
- Provide weekly reporting on QA outcomes, highlighting areas for improvement
- Ensure timely coaching and remediation with appropriate record-keeping
- Oversee complaints to ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Prepare External Dispute Resolution (EDR) responses as needed (AFSL and ACL)
- Prepare breach reports for ASIC as necessary
- Implement and facilitate a weekly skills uplift program based on QA outcomes
- Oversee Continuing Professional Development (CPD) completion
- Maintain and update AFSL registers (training, complaints, incidents, breaches, gifts and benefits, conflicts of interest)
- Review and update compliance policies related to life insurance as needed
- Demonstrated Experience as a Compliance Manager
- In-depth knowledge of life insurance products and underwriting
- Strong understanding of the regulatory environment for life insurance sales
- Project management skills, including proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Forms
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices in compliance and underwriting operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Diligence and commitment to meeting deadlines
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a compliance, legal, or underwriting role related to life insurance
- RG146 certification is desirable
