We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer for an immediate start with one of our clients within our local councils.
The Role
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with a wide range of legislative and Council policies relating to parking management and regulatory services
- Ensure initial and follow up inspections are carried out as directed
- Attend to out of hours complaints from the public
- Initiate appropriate actions for non-compliance
- Carry out an annual door knock pertaining to animal registrations
- Patrol and enforce on and off leash areas in public places and parks
- Administrative tasks, correspondence and communication with various stakeholders
Experience Required
We are seeking applications from candidates who bring:
- Prior experience in Local Government
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and enforcement
- Exceptional customer service skills
- A sound work ethic with an ability to focus on the task at hand without distraction
- Good verbal communications skills, well-developed negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
- An ability to display professional judgement when determining the appropriate response to breaches of various Acts (knowing when to issue a warning vs an expiation)
- Experience in customer facing roles (not necessarily parking and traffic, retail - can also be relevant experience)
- An ability to fulfil the physical requirements of the role (patrolling streets and areas on foot for extended periods)
- Reasonably sound tech skills (to use the expiation app, phone, iPad and systems such as Skytrust)
- Ability to represent the Council in a positive light
- Works well as part of a team and in isolation
