About the Role: At Karstens, our strength lies in our people. We take pride in our team of consummate professionals who consistently exceed client expectations. We are currently on the lookout for a dynamic and proactive individual to step into the role of Operations Supervisor. Ideally suited for a self-driven individual with a background in Conference Operations or food & beverage management, this role requires an excellent grasp of hospitality operations, particularly in hotel/conference settings. Proficiency in General IT, particularly in audio/visual setups and troubleshooting, is highly advantageous.
Reporting directly to the National Operations Manager and collaborating with our conference team, this role primarily entails overseeing the Afternoon shift, managing both daytime and evening events across our 22 conference and training rooms. The Operations Supervisor will lead a team of casual F&B staff, actively engaging in food & beverage service and room setups, including furniture and equipment handling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise operations team to ensure impeccable delivery of food & beverage services and client conference & training room requirements with utmost attention to detail.
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards, liaising with presenters and trainers to fulfill event requirements and brief them on Karstens' housekeeping and emergency protocols.
- Ensure accurate communication of function details to operational staff and organize client requests efficiently.
- Foster professional relationships with clients and actively promote Karstens facilities and services to prospective clients.
- Conduct training for operational staff in accordance with established standards.
- Uphold cleanliness and presentation standards of Karstens premises at all times.
- Anticipate and accommodate changes and demands from presenters/trainers to ensure seamless event execution.
- Complete administrative tasks diligently and in a timely manner.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating leadership, motivation, and educational prowess.
- Assist in managing food & beverage, dry goods, and supply stocks, adhering to expenditure budgets.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager to ensure food & beverage and staffing costs align with expenditure budgets.
- Possess proficient understanding of booking systems to obtain relevant event details.
