What is Connected Beginnings?
Connected Beginnings is an initiative to support the integration and strengthening of services for early childhood, maternal and child health, and family support to assist in school readiness and educational outcomes in Indigenous children. As the backbone organization, Connected Beginnings employees will drive this initiative to the specific needs of the Katherine region.
Brief Summary of role:
To support the implementation of the Connected Beginnings initiative. This includes, promote and connect families and children (birth to 5 years) to a range of local services including health, family support and early childhood educational programs to meet the needs of the individual child and the family. Support the transition of vulnerable children to play group/preschool/school programs. Establish and maintain close working relationships and networks with local service agencies.
Support the development and delivery of an integrated service model and appropriate early learning and family support resources in consultation with vulnerable families and community agencies which meet the needs of families and enhance early literacy and numeracy and school readiness.
Renumeration Package:

Salary Range: Casual: $26.57 - $32.69 per hour (plus casual loading & other applicable allowances)
Location: Kalano’s Big Rivers Child & Family Centre, Katherine NT
Hours of work: Flexible Hours available between Monday to Friday | 08:00am – 4:30pm
The successful applicant should posses the following attributes, skills and competencies;
• Tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in education, community development, communications, change management, social services, health, business, or related area, and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
• An ability to communicate effectively and appropriately
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective networks and collaborative partnerships
• A comprehensive understanding of cultural sensitivities and needs in planning integrated service delivery.
• A well-developed understanding of client service, including the need for confidentiality with an ability for innovation and creative problem solving.
• Sound knowledge of IT and computer software
• Necessary licences including current Criminal History Check, NT Drivers Licence and Ochre Card.
